Google Talk WiFi phone under way from Alpha Networks
With the invention of Skype and its enormous benefits, everyone wants to use it, so that most of the other VoIP options have been overlooked. The fact that Skype gets all the attention does not necessarily mean that vendors have forgotten other VoIP options. A typical example is the Google Talk which is quite likable.
Now, Alpha Networks Taiwan, a VoIP vendor is set to produce a WiFi phone that will have the same compatibility with Google Talk. All they are waiting for is to create a sort of agreement with "clients' product roadmaps". Not sure what that means.
The WiFi phone will have Gmail features. They are also planning to include a video phone on it. One cannot really say if it is like the Google Talk-based video chat, or if a kind of forthcoming Google Video Talk product is on one of those "clients' product roadmaps". Anyway, these are all purely irresponsible and entertaining speculations on our part. We'll just have to wait and see what they have for us.
