Microsoft and Cisco on Hoodlum over VoIP Service.
The ever existing rivalry between Cisco systems and Microsoft has entered another phase just as the later launched its unified communications portfolio in the market.
Already, Cisco has admitted that, Microsoft’s entering has imposed a somewhat slower rate in sales cycle. Cisco said that their sales cycle are getting longer as customers stop to consider the impact before deciding on what to opt for.
Although the Cisco’s CTO of unified communications expressed that the company is really not seeing significant slowdown in the sales cycle, he did concede that some Cisco Channel partners are now spending at least few extra days to walk potential customers through their options.
According to him, “…there’s a couple of days of extra conversation while we work through what does Microsoft actually have, what does Cisco have and what are the various ways they can work together”.
