Yedda has been acquired by AO
Yedda, a semantic social search Questions and Answer service has been acquired by AOL. It will now operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of AOL.
How does Yedda work? It utilizes a patent-pending technology which automatically matches questions to other related questions and topics. At the same time it also picks the most favorable users available to answer the question.
The semantic matching technology found in Yedda can intelligently route questions to relevant communities of internet users who can 'syndicate' their know-how. They can also spark a community-wide dialogue of people invited to discuss and learn from each other's experiences.
With Yedda's technology, AOL can now incorporate the Questions and Answer functionality into select programming areas on AOL.com. They will also integrate 'Questions & Answers' into its experiences in the upcoming months.
Yedda employs about 20 people. They will still be operating all over Europe and in the US. The R&D centre in Yedda will still have its base in Israel. The financial terms involved in the deal was not revealed.
