Group Releases QoS Guidelines for VoIP Providers
A concerned group in Australia, Australia 's Communications Alliance, has released new guidelines that would assist operators of the Voice-over Internet Providers to meet QoS targets VoIP and IP networking, and it is believed that these would facilitate service delivery.
The guidelines were claimed to have been carefully drafted and covered wide area that include the challenge of using a single broadband connection to combine voice and/or video applications with less time sensitive applications such as Web browsing and e-mail, while not compromising the experience of the voice/video.
While commenting on the guidelines, Anne Hurley- Alliance CEO said at present some network operators may manage the user experience of this within their respective networks, but doing so across different networks might be difficult.
According to her "The next important step will be the implementation and successful use of the guidelines by the industry. We would then expect improvements to end user experiences, particularly when calls traverse multiple networks.
